MARBLING ON TYVEK (PAPER-LIKE TEXTURE): MINI-SECTION OF BOOKBINDING

Marbling is a method of aqueous surface design,the patterns are the result of color floated on either plain water or a viscous solution known as a size, and the carefully transferred to an absorbent surface, such as paper,fabric, leather, plastic, etc.

Give an experience for participant to make their own paper marbling, playing with floating color of paint and then carefully manipulated either by blowing on them directly. See how surprisingly the fluid constantly moving and constanly changing like the seas.

Through this class we will inform you about many materials that feasible to use, one of them is Tyvek. Hard Structure Tyvek styles are paper-like and have a smooth slick surface with a very low coefficient of friction. Significantly lighter than traditional fabrics or papers, Tyvek is easy to handle, lightweight, strong, extremely durable, and easy to perforate, cut and fold.

And in the last section, after doing an experiment of marbling on tyvek, they can create their own scrapbooks, sketchbooks or journal by doing a bookbinding section.The experimenting result (paper marbling) will be the cover of their journal. This mini-section of bookbinding intent to give a little keepsake for participant that they make with their own hand, and it is absolutely will give them some crafty experience.
